I absolutely love this song. No matter how many times I hear it, it makes me cry every time I hear it.

Why am I so weak Lord? by Marlive Harris
Sometimes I wonder how God, who is all powerful and creator of impassable mountains and turbulent seas, created me to be so weak and such a mess at times. No matter how hard I try to be faithful, good, and live according to His word, I mess-up. I don’t mean to, but sometimes my mess-ups are so big (at least they are in my mind) that I feel there is no way God is going to forgive me. In fact, I expect Him to part the clouds at any moment and recall me right up out of here — LOL!
But instead of me going to him with my mess-ups, I get this bright idea that I will fix everything myself. After all God is busy fixing up bigger messes than mine in the world and since this is a mess I created, I know I can handle this. But instead of my mess-ups getting better or going away, I find myself slipping further into frustration and darkness – getting nowhere fast. Have you ever tried to clean up the messes in your life without bothering God? I’m sure you have. So tell me, how well did you do?
Then I read Psalm 103:14, “For he knows how weak we are; he remembers we are only dust (NLT),” and I’m reminded that when God created those mountains and turbulent seas I mention above, he created them perfect and self sufficient — not to need him. And if he wanted me to be self sufficient and independent of him he would have made me a mountain peak or a wave of the sea. Instead he created me weak (with plenty messes) to need and want His soul and His gift of grace for my life!
“It is not that we think we are qualified to do anything on our own. Our qualifications comes from God.” – 2 Cor 3:5 (NLT)
As I study and grow in God’s word, I realize my weak nature is all a part of God’s plan and that the gift of perfection is not intended for me and never will be for me in this life. But the one gift I can count on when I’m weak is the best gift of all – God’s abundant grace!

Today’s message will be brief and to the point, and just as it pricked my heart when I read this sentence in the book that I’m reading, I pray it does the same for you.
So, when all is said and done, do you really trust God to supply your every need?
That’s it. A powerful message packed into one little sentence.
Be blessed!

When faced with life-altering situations or decisions, it is so very easy, so natural to act upon instinct, sometimes hastily. It’s also natural to seek out the counsel of family and friends who we believe has nothing but our best interest at heart.
But no matter how well-intentioned our family and friends are, taking their advice, and yes, even our own, may not always be the best course of action. Why? Because the way we want to handle the situation may not be the best way to handle it, and more often than not, it’s not the way God would want us to handle it. In Isaiah 55:8, we are told,
“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways, declares the Lord.”
So the next time you find yourself facing a difficult choice, take a moment to consult the Word of God for a resolution, His resolution to the problem. I’m sure you’ll find the answer. And yes, you may be ridiculed and criticized for the stance you take, but it’s infinitely better to stand firm and let God control your life.
